connecting headset

hi, Just bought headset to connect to talk on line to relation in Holland but dont know where the 2 plugs go. ( one mike icon and one headphone icon) I have Dell demension 3000computer and windows xp. Can anyone advise where the plugs connect. Thanks

To the sound card connectors at the back? Usually green for headphones and red or pink for the microphone.
