Hi All, any advice on this would be great, we are a family of 4, my husband was given a months notice, I work pt 19.5hrs pw,earning approx take home 1500.00pm, only other income would be childrens allowance for 2 children, No lump sums in savings, and I think my husband will receive statutory package, my questions are

Would we be entitled to mortgage interest supplement, given that we currently pay approx 1200.00pm, we are in year 3 of our mortage, if so approx how much would that be?

Also would we be entitled to any additional support, Jobseekers etc.

Have read other posts, but cannot really fully comprehend our position, so any advice would be really helpful, Thanks

You can apply for Mortgage Interest Supplement provided you work less than 30 hours per week. It's difficult to say how much you might get as it's based on the household income and the interest portion of the mortgage.

Your husband can sign for Jobseeker's Benefit, provided he's available for and seeking full time work.

As you work over 19 hrs per week, you could also apply for Family Income Supplement.

You can get application forms for all of these on the welfare website - www.welfare.ie
