Confused about TRS on Home Improvements Loan

What exactly comes under 'Home Improvements' and how does one go about claiming the TRS? Would a loan for a new kitchen qualify for relief?
 
Not sure if/where there is a strict definition but I imagine that it applies to structural work rather than fittings and furnishings. As such I doubt that a new kitchen would qualify unless you mean structural work rather than just new units and appliances?
 
No, literally just the units and appliances. I'll mention to the lender to see what they say.
 
Don't depend on your lender for authoritative tax advice. I strongly suspect that interest on credit used for buying units/appliances qualifies for interest relief. Ask Revenue or get independent professional advice if necessary.
