Hi all,

Soon a tiler will do the tiles in my house. He is the boyfriend of a friend of us. So what will be reliable to pay him. He is jobless at the moment. He is certified for this job. He will do the kitchen: 3,3m x 3,1m, washroom: 2mx 2m, toilet 1,5m x 2m, Living room: 6mx5m and the hallway: 2m x 3m.

May be he will also fit the carpets for us: 3 bedrooms, hallway and the stairs.

Thanks in advance

Friend or no friend agree a price before he comes to do the job, also get at least 2 other quotes, you might get a better price of someone you don't know, These so called friend doing me a favor can get messy people falling out etc
I heard of a story where a guy did the plastering for a so called friend's house, he did it as a favor for nothing.(3 day's plastering)
Roll on a year later the plasterer got the same guy who was a sparks to do a small job for him( 1 day's work) and the guy charged him no kidding,

Hi pickle,

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you. I am a bit confused abt that friend. Because i havent seen his work. He cant show me, because he hasnt done anything in Ireland before. I will think abt him.

you could get him to do a small less important room as a trial if you feel obliged to go with him

Hi Rebel...I have a utility room.....i want him to that first.....and then see how tidy he works...thanks

i think they ask for cash so that they dont have to pay tax.....and still get all the benefits??? it's unfair to the tax-payers...right?
