hi there,

my husband works for a large US multi-national. (His previous company were acquired - he had worked with them for several years.)

He works in a sales role so his salary is made up of basic and commission for sales.
The new company has not yet issued him with a new commission plan since their new financial year started. They are citing new systems, plans etc.. as cause for the delay.

As a result, my husbands take home pay has been basic only, which means he is down 50% on average per month. He was told this should be fixed and all be in place by month 2 of the year, but it now looks like it could be 4 months of a delay.

He as asked about an advance on his commission given the delay on their side, but is being told this is not be possible as no plan has been issued to him. We are struggling financially as a result.

Does anyone know whether the company are allowed to do this? Are there any statutory rights for Irish employees which means they should pay an advance in such cases?

Thanks,

Marge
