Hi...
My company was recently taken over by a larger org and we were all issued with new contracts. One of the clauses on remuneration states, in simple terms, that the company has the right to change your salary, at its sole discretion subject to performance reviews....of course, this means they can cut my salary with little notice! The rumour mill is currently telling me that my 'old' company paid alot better than the new one....and thus , the minute we sign....they will be adjusting all our salaries in line with theirs.....I dont want not to sign either though - as I will loose out on other Ts and Cs eg maternity pay if I dont....
Any advice? I presume company can do this??

I presume you fall under TUPE legislation.
In this case you employer can't do that.
Have a look here
http://www.citizensinformation.ie/c.../contracts-of-employment/transfer_of_business

Basically your new employer has to honour your current contract.

Im also not sure if this phrase would be legal anyhow as you would give away a right you have in law (to not have your contract without your consent).

One thing I forgot to mention:
Were employee representatives or Unions consulted about the TUPE move?
By law, your company have to consult witheither Union or employee representatives.

You should definitely talk to your Union (if you have one), NERA or a solicitor.
