Company Car - Tax Impact

I apologise if this was in another thread but I tried to do a search using both IE and Firefox and it did not work.

What is the tax impact on a PAYE if they are offered a company car?

I know that the annual taxable value to me is 30% of the open market value of the car.

So for illustration purposes if I earn 80k and I am offered a company car with an omv of 30K then then taxable benefit to me is 9000 per annum.

How does this get integrated with my monthly wage?

Realise it is probably a simplistic query but I would not to know the practical impact so if someone can explain it in simple terms then I would be very grateful

The 9k tax value of the benefit is spread over the year, so each month you are treated as if you earned an additional €750 and taxed (at your marginal rate, plus prsi) on that.

If you do high business milage or are in the car for business purposes for most of the day, every day, then the rate is reduced.
