Combined Washer/Dryer-dryer problem

Hi

I have a Whirlpool washer/dryer, it is less than 2 years old, all white goods were supplied by the builders, the washing machine is working perfectly but a few days ago the dryer part stopped working, the drum turns, the drying timer works, but it doesn't heat up and doesn't appear to be extracting the moisture (it always made a noise that let you know the extracted water was going out the pipe) I haven't even begun to nose around any part if it, because I don't know where to start, any early indications as to whether I can try a DIY solution or should I just get the plumber in?

thanks
Gloriosa

If it's Whirlpool, it should be covered by a 5 year parts guarantee - you may have to pay for labour. Did you register the w/d when you took possession of the house? Ring them at 01 6161777

Hi thanks for the replies, where is the pump filter? ie do I have pull the machine out from the cubby hole its in to find it?, sorry, haven't a clue and I need to learn

Hi Jhegarty, thanks for the link, I has just successfully removed the pump filter at the front and there was only a small amount of guck on the filter, had a look inside the filter hole and again very little residue of guck there, the only thing I have noticed, is the drum seems very wobbly inside, is it time for a plumber?

white goods came with the apartment, so I didn't register a guarantee, though I have the paperwork

You need to have registered at time of purchase to be covered under warranty.

okay thanks for that, i failed to ensure the filter pump was sealed tight after taking out the filter, put on a wash, lucky I was there, nearly flooded place, DIY is just not for me , so I'll get the plumber in to look at it, thanks for all the replies
