Who in their right mind thought for one minute that hanging up clothing on a bridge over a river was in anyway a sensible thing to do?

If the rain didn't make them wet through, the winds would blow them off.

DCC had to spend time, money and energy not only removing dumped items, but issuing statements as well and then the self-righteous social media idiots complain.

Homeless people need homes, not coats.

Rough sleepers are the people the coats are for, not people looking for a free house and those who actually need a house but are currently living somewhere else.
Those rough sleepers need psychiatric support, addiction support and access to social workers and mental health services, not a wet coat.

Leaving coats on a bridge is a monumentally stupid idea.

Yeah, the stupidity of people never cease to astound me. People thinking dumping their old coats on a bridge is helping the homeless. There are plenty of real homeless charities that people can donate to. This was just a bunch of middle class do gooders trying to feel good about themselves so they can post something on Instagram....

Another thing that annoys me about the homeless situation. The amount of celebrities on social media criticising people for spending large amounts of money over Christmas while people are sleeping on the streets. These same people probably own 100 pairs of shoes, spend ridiculous amounts of money socialising all year around and still think they are in a position to take the moral high ground. We pay a lot of tax in this country. We give a lot to charity. We have large amounts of social welfare. The homeless situation is terrible and needs sorting but spare me the guilt trip that it is somehow my fault....
