Co. Co. requires a Tax Clearance Certificate.

Last week I received a Letter from a Co Co demanding that I submit a Tax Clearance Certificate or they would stop payment of rent.

I do not have a tax problem but the tone of the letter was less than friendly.

The situation is that I receive €7,200.00 per year rent in total from the Co Co.

I have no other dealings with them and I thought that it was when you were receiving €10,000.00 or more that you had to submit a tax clearance cert.

Please advise
 
I think you may be correct regarding the €10K limit. I took a look in section 1095 TCA and could not find anything there about €10K and it is probably buried somewhere else.

I'd be practical here - if your tax affairs are up to date go onto the Revenue website and apply for one. It should issue in a number of days.
