CNM2 told me that there is talk of cutting nurses allowances like sunday pay etc?

Any nurses or care staff on here? My CNM2 told me yesterday that there is talk of cutting allowances like sunday pay and night allowance etc, anybody else hear about this?

Not a nurse myself but spoke to a nurse - who cares for special needs clients - they already have to suffer sunday night & night pay reductions. What I mean is getting less hours at the higher rates. Disgraceful!!

yes, this is definitely happening everywhere. Where I work there has been a big reduction in hours being paid at premium rates, and I believe there will be some effort made to reduce the premiums paid for nights, sundays etc. What form this will take I don't know.

In saying that, following an 'incident' due to these reduced hours, which translates into reduced staff levels and reduced cover, management has somewhat rowed back on cutting hours, though not fully...
 
Yes theres talk of cutting nurse's allowances but it hasn't happened yet. The INO website has some updates on what to do if your employer tries to do this.

Surely there would be all out strike if this was the case?
 
surely any attempt to reduce premium payments for sundays,nights etc would have to apply across the public service as a whole, and not just target one particular group, eg: nurses?
