We had a builder in, doing a bit of work and he has left an awful mess. I had no problem with that as i would clean up better than them anyway. My problem is that there are lots of concrete splashes on the tiled floor and walls of my loo. I am afraid to scrub them in case I would damage the tiles. Can anyone advise on how to clean these?
 
If the tiles are glazed, the concrete should chip off easily. Use any sturdy scraper. You might prefer not to use a steel implement with a sharp edge.
 
Yes the tiles are glazed. Thanks for the suggestion. Any idea of what tool to use?
 
I used Santrax in the past when concrete streaks were left on our kitchen floor and it eventually got rid of the marks. You would need to be very careful and have the room ventilated as the fumes are dreadful. You would also need to test it out on a small non-visible area before using it. It would probably be best to remove the larger/heavier streaks with the scraper and the remains with the Santrax.
 
In a similar situation I used a steel chisel (carefully, of course). There are plastic scrapers to be found: some are sold for scraping ice off car windshields, some are sold for various kitchen purposes. Or you can improvise with any bits of fairly stiff and tough plastic you find around the house.

To finish off, I would use steel wool and plenty of water.
 
You can use a stanly blade on it.and then wipe off with a damp cloth
 
I'd suggest using one of those plastic ice-scrapers for clearing windscreens as its less likely to damage the glaze on the tiles or your slice off your hands. Once you loosen a bit of concrete gently sweep it up to avoid having it ground into the tiles. Don't use a vacuum cleaner as you may invalidate its warranty ( see previous threads )
 
The guy that put in our fire place recommended using , steel wool or stanley blade and WD40 on granite fireplace. I used stanly blade and wd40 on tiles to remore grout/plasted etc
 
I was told to use a piece of wood to scrape things from tiles as it's usually soft enough so that it doesn't scratch the tiles themselves.

It worked for me with messy grout dunno how it would do with concrete...
