Clothes coming out hot from Washing Machine

Hi,

My washing machine seems to leave my clothes hot when the cycle is finished. Even when I wash at 30 degrees, some clothes are shrinking.

Anyone any idea what could be wrong?

I had the same thing in an apartment I rented years ago: The problem was that the washing maching was incorrectly plumbed, so the cold water inlet was actually the boiling hot one.
I think at the time we just pulled out the washing maching and swapped the pipes around, but it's 10 years ago, so couldn't say for sure..But if that's it, which seems like the most likely solution, it's easy to fix. I think the pipes were actually colour coded too (blue for cold/red for hot)

Not being funny, but are you sure you don't have a washer-dryer? With most models if the timer for the drying programme is set to anything but zero it will automatically run after the wash cycle has finished.

Yeh true..happened me too..didnt realise i was using a washer/dryer combined (stupid i know), but after shrinking a few dozen tops i eventually copped!

Hi, yeah I'm positive its not a Washer/Dryer.
 
The inlets at the back (hot and cold) are probably reversed or marked wrong.
If the machine has only one inlet (hosepipe) which will be a cold inlet just change it over to the other connection.
While nearly all washing machines are now cold only inlets, most properties are still plumbed with both hot, and cold feeds brought to the service point.
Where the service pipes finish there may be gate valves with blue and red levers, and these may be reversed.
See how you get on.
