Closing and moving in?

I should be closing end of this week but is there anything I need to do before the final day.

What's the deal with ESB, gas etc. Names have been changed over but what about meter readings etc., do I need to arrange this?

Key handover - who will be there, what might I need, will anything else need to be signed?

Anything else I should know?

Let your solicitor do the worrying. You should pick up the keys from your solicitor after the closing (never have to meet the other side or their solicitor). Worth calling the estate agent to check if they still hold any keys in which case arrange to pick those up once the estate agent has been informed of closing.

Be sure to read the meters yourself as soon as you go in and it's worth ringing the ESB and Gas to check they have those readings and your details on their system.

In the unlikely event the phone hasn't been cut off, call Eircom immediately.

With cable tv, just notify the supplier if it hasn't been cut off.
