Is it true that putting clear varnish on bathroom wall will protect from steam/shower instead of tiles? Some of my bathroom is tiled and I am installing a shower and funds are tight. Varnish would suit better as I can do it myself, I cannot fit tiles. Thanks

There are special paints you can buy for bathrooms and kitchens.

hey april
there is an excellent paint i use for bathrooms and ensuites that will not peel or flake.its called "perma white" its made by zinzzer a us company whos products are second too none, you can tint this paint too most light colours, its in adifferent league too normal bathroom and kitchen paints.it does smell a bit but its water based, just make sure the surface is clean and for best results give at least 6-8 hours between coats 2 should be fine.its about 40 to 45 euro for a us gallon which is about 3.8 litres i think.you will have too go too a proper paint shop i would think but its worth it ok.
