Cleaning Stove Glass??

Folks,
on a couple of occasions recently, we lit a newly installed solid fuel, and as seems to be the norm, the glass has blackened. No doubt I have a little 'tricking' about to do in terms of figuring out how to optimise the airwash feature to minimise the black deposits on the glass but would appreciate if any other poster has any tips on how to prevent same or how best to clean the glass once it is stained. Thanks in advance

I find clean it every day before light the fresh fire the best, other posts here recommend using a little ash wetted and use this to clean glass. I find the little green sponge type things with white or yellow sponges you buy for washing dishes great. I cut them into small rectangles and the rough green rough side and scrub, wipe clean with spongey side and then burn it.

Wet newspaper with a little ash on it works well.

Make sure to use only well seasoned wood (ideally 2 yearrs) with little moisture.
