Hi there,

our paving stones in the back garden are very dirty looking. Have cleaned a few times now with a power washer (water only) but it hasn't made much difference. Can anyone advise of a way to get them clean ?
Advice appreciated.

Try searching the forums, theres other posts on this matter. Search clean paths, clean concrete, etc.

put on some bleach leave it for a day or so and then hot powerclean. Do it when no rain forecast

What colour is the dirt? Ie are they a greenish or blackish colour? if so they may need to be treated with a fungicide as this is a type of algae.

You might try using patio magic available from your local DIY or Hardware. Wash off with a brush and warm water. Follow up with a powerwasher a few weeks later. It would be a good idea to treat the paving with a sealer once dry. Kilsaran Paving supply a good sealer.

You can buy a big drum of chloras in hardware shops.

Water it down and using a watering can spray the slabs. Do it while dry. Leave it a day or 2 and then use power washer.

Mine come up like new every year when I do this!
