How does one go about reclaiming tax due to a deceased person? I am the administator of the estate and I am not using a solicitor nor do I wish to do so.

You need to submit a tax return as "the executor of the estate of xxxx" to the Revenue.

The Revenue will probably require copy of the will, grant of probate or schedule of assets as well.

Rin the Revenue - they are quite helpful, but if the estate is any way complex, ask the advice of a tax consultant.

Nothing complex at all just a bit of PAYE to sort out for the last year. I found it strange that the solicitor who did the probate never bothered to do anything about it.

Probate is completely different from dealing with the tax affairs of the estate.
Probte is merely a "proving" of the will, and nothing to do with taxation.
