Hello there
I have looked up previous posts and have seen that there are few queries around claiming tax back when moving abroad but did find anyone in a situation similar to mine. So here we go
I worked in Ireland for over 5 years until May 2007 and then moved to the UK more or less permanently. I did not however claim for tax back during 2007 and realised only recently that I could get all or most of my taxes that I paid in Ireland during 2007. I was going to fill the form P50 for this and then called the PAYE helpline just to be sure. I have been advised that I cannot use the P50 because we are in a different tax year now and that I need to send an email to Revenue to have my tax thingy reviewed.
So I have a couple of questions around this:
1. Is there someone in this forum that has been in a similar situation and have been able to claim tax back?
2. What is the critieria for the tax refund or in simple terms how much will I get back?
Please advise
Thanks
