Cladding to use on a terrace

Does anyone have any ideas what material can be used on a terrace to give some privacy(its curved and quite large and I hate that bamboo material that some people use). The cost does not matter as the builder is paying for it
 
If this in an apartment development you may need planning permission to vary the "look" of the balconies.

Otherwise you could consider any material you like - smoked glass screens with stainless steel mounts for example - brick honeycomb walls or sold walls - proper timber screens instead of bamboo - glass block - the list is endless... :)
