I've just started in the Civil Service and want to apply for a transfer closer to my home place, and am just wondering what the protocol is, to whom do I address the transfer request, who gets copied with it, and what wording to use?
You can also write a simple letter addressed to your manager and your Personnel Section, stating that you wish to apply for transfer to X. ask for acknowledgement. There are usually wiaitng lists for filling posts that arise in the location you want. look at the decentralistion position too at CAF, as KCT said.
