Civil Action for Assault

I was recently assualted.

Could I also bring a Civil Action at a later date? Would it be worth my while? I got bad bruising to my head and face and had to go to A&E but was out in a few hours. I missed one day of work but have had to try to explain to everyone that it wasn't my fault that I have black eyes and look like I was fighting over the weekend!

I've never looked to sue anyone before but this thug is caught on camera assaulting me.
 
If he pleads guilty he may offer compensation to you in an attempt to mitigate his sentence. Probably more cost effective for you to wait and see.

There is nothing to stop you bringing a civil action against him. Wait till the criminal trial is over first.
