We got our small stove fitted into our fireplace last year, except the smallest stove we got didnt quite fit. (The height of the stove is the exact same height as the top of the fireplace opening) So we had it fitted so that it sits out on the heart with an elbow type pipe extension coming from the back and then up into the chimney. This was fine before our little precious bundle arrived and now that she is here, i feel the stove is far too exposed and dangerous.
Am I looking for a builder or chimney expert? Would anyone be able to recommend someone reliable and trustworthy?
The chimney is an odd shape, sort of bulks out half way down the wall so I think it could be a load bearing type chimney, if this makes what I want to do impossible??
Any direction/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
