I got what appears to be a fairly standard letter regarding my child allowance. I have to provide details of their school and tick the boxes to questions such as "does your child reside in Ireland?"

I recall some discussion about this in months gone by, am wondering really if everyone will get this form or just those not of irish origin?

I'm none Irish and have had 4 in the last year, with a new one just last week. I think you get them far more often if you are not an Irish citizen?

Like yourself I'm not irish and haven't recieved one in about 2 or 3 years until i got one in the post today.

I guess the whole idea is to update their system and ensure every one recieving it is entitled to it.

And they re well within their rights to do that.

Possibly you do, but rightly so in my opinion. There's been a mass exodus from Ireland, and steps have to be taken to ensure that only people entitled to the benefits are getting them..

Quite agree. I certainly didn't mind getting it, was more curious about whether it was just non irish that recieved it as I thought, maybe they were cracking down on paying for children not actually residing here.

Have filled it in and popped it in the post, took less than five minutes so wouldn't be bothered if it arrived again.
