Cheapest place to buy major kitchen appliances - fridge freezer and range cooker etc?

Hi guys, need to buy fridge freezer (considering Fisher & Paykel wide one) and good quality dual fuel or gas stainless steel range cooker - anyone got the heads up on cheap place to buy them - is it better to go up north or stick to Power City type outlets and bargain with them for the best deal???

north is probably cheaper check out web sites S&R/WATTERS/DALZELL /LAZER etc
but make sure there is after sales available in the South for anything you buy

I bought all my stuff in Briscoes in Drogheda, I think its called Briscoe Expert Store on the Donore Rd. I couldnt beat their prices even up North. I haggled big time. They threw in all my small kitchen appliances. ALL of them...kettle, toaster, can opener, deep fat fryer, blender, george foreman grill when I bought a microwave, fridge freezer and double oven(waterford stanley). Dealt with John.

I bought all of my appliances at DID in Lucan - but there are loads of DID's about.

+1...when we lived in Dublin we bought from them a few times and found them really accomodating and very nice to deal with. Stillorgan and Kimmage branches.

I got mine from Swans in Carlow, for something like this I'd always recommend a local non chain dealer as they will often be prepared to haggle, usually prepared to do a deal and tend to be far more flexible on things like delivery times
