Hi,

My insurance policy is Vhi 3513 and i have to find a good cheaper alternative.

I am 51, smoker and would like to have good knee cover as my mother had a knee replacement age 55. I also make use of the psychotherapy sessions for 12 sessions so save 30 euros of each on the policy I am on so would see sense in having that on a new policy.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good cheaper alternative? Vhi suggested 4316 as a slightly cheaper alternative but i am wondering what people think i should do.

Any opinions appreciated.

Hi suesue,

Welcome to AAM.

There is a comparison here on HIA site for VHI 3513 and PMI 4316. I don't see any mention of psychotherapy on the HIA site so you would need to Google the Table of Benefits or maybe check with VHI about that cover.

A reduction in premium and an increase in cover to include orthopaedic for knee cover is going to be nigh on impossible to achieve as most policies only include 80% or 60% cover especially with VHI. One policy that does have the cover and has been mentioned in the past on AAM is Control 600 Connect with Laya but there are lot more high excesses on that policy. See here. You could check it out with Laya and ask them about the psychotherapy cover also.
