Hi,

I'm thinking on getting a different plaster to do the inside of the house. I have already completed most of the outside and had the plasterer quote me a price for outside and inside seperately form the start. Is this a bit of a no no or is it quite common?
I'm happy with the outside job, but the price for the inside is very high?

Anyone done this before???

Thanks

Have you got another quote to compare it to? If you have, and you're happy with this plasterer's work, why not discuss it mith him?

But i certainly wouldnt be paying over the top in the current climate, and if you've been quoted for what is two different jobs, then i see no problem with changing.

I haven't went looking for prices for the inside yet - but my current plasterer was €3000 more expensive overall than 2 other quotes I got, but i had already agreed for him to do the outside so I didn't think it fair to pull out of that agreement.

I used different teams for the inside and outside. Its normal enough. They quote separately and often do only one or the other. Talk about the price. They may lower the price but rush the job.
Plastering is one of those jobs where quality is higly subjective. Use your finger tips to detect ripples and bumps once one room is plastered. Do not rely on eyesight.

Shop around by all means, and it is common for plasterers to quote for inside and out. The idea however that in this current climate you'll get the job done for nothing is nonesense.
In my experience you get what you pay for. I would suggest to get a few quotes at least 10 take the dearest and the cheapest and put them to one side. The price from experience will be some were in the middle.
While I know for some this may sound mad the fact is some people due over charge and for those that charge to little there is always a reason for this.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes.
