Changed furniture - how to remove dents in carpet?

Does anyone have any tips on how to remove/improve dents in the carpet left after the furniture was moved/changed?

Tried the steam iron and it improved slightly, but the marks/dents are still quite visible.

Would having Chem Dry in help?
 
How long have you left it for before expecting an improvment? I have always found that they come around in time but perhaps your furniture was there for so long that it has left a permanent indentation or the furniture may have been very heavy. Google may help.
 
Hi Sue Ellen, the furniture was there for about 8 years and we moved it about 4 months ago and the dents are still there.

I googled it, but for some reason didn't come up with the same answers you got! I'll try the ice cubes, fork and steam iron again!
 
Ice cubes definitely work, but you may need to do it a few times.
 
Marks from furniture in Carpet

Ice cubes worked for me. repeat the process a few times. I had severe marks but it wowrked like a dream. Brwotal
