on my self build at present, the septic tank location on the plans was shown off to one side of the house, now with the roof on and moving soil about doing lawn it looks like i would be better to have the tank to the front of the house, just purely as the elevation of the house is much higher than the front patch, if i go to the spot as indicated on my plans it will be a night mare, and ill have to dig so deep to get the fall,

can i move it , or is it req by the PP to remain as indicated?

you need to ensure that all the requirements of the county council are met if you move the septic tank.
There are minimum distances the septic tank AND MORE IMPORTANTLY the percolation area should be away from elements such as dwellings, other percolation areas, boundaries, wells etc.

There are two different guidleines on this, one is the EPA guidelines, the other is SR 6 1991. The separating distances will be in accordance with whichever guideline is to be used.

Regarding the septic tank, the usual is to locate it min 7 m from any dwelling.... the percolation area should be min 20 m from any dwelling (SR 6 requirement). therefore it would not be a big thing to keep the septic tank on gravity fall 7 m from the delling and the pump up onto your percolation area thats 20m from the dwelling. this solves the need to move the system.
