I am currently working as a Quantity Surveyor with approx 7 years experience,
and am thinking of changing jobs, perhaps to something different.
Somebody mentioned Loss Adjusters to me - would anybody have any info on the relevance of my qualifications and experience to such a position?
Or any other suggestions of a related career move?

Thanks

I wouldn't blame you, I never fancied the lot of the QS! Loss adjustor would be interesting also insurance assessor could be another avenue, I met one recently who had a building services background. He was able to fill me in on all the big payouts for fires in commercial premises recently and how they start etc. very interesting. Requires more lateral thinking and your building background would be invaluable in the commercial insurance market.

If you can meet someon in one of the careers you are thinking about and them a pint etc they could give you a few insights. You could also try ringing an insurence company and asking to speek to the e.g. "commercial property loss adjuster". Keep trying.

Have you considered construction sales?

Since you would other QS's it would give you a definite advantage
