CGT/Eircom losses

I sold some shares in 2006 (including vodafone shares which I received in place of Eircom shares) and made a profit of 3000euros. Can I offset the losses I suffered when Eircom shares was sold in 2001 and I received some Vodafone shares and money instead.
 
If you have previously incurred capital losses then you must write them off against subsequent gains before you use your annual CGT allowance unless you are simply going to ignore the losses altogether as far as CGT goes.
