My Mum has a post Office Savings account and wants to put my name on as joint account holder as she is not always able to go to the post office to make withdrawals etc.
When we sent in the application to add my name, we got a letter to say that in the event of death of one holder- the other would be liable for Inheritance taxes and CGT.
I figure that Inheritance tax wouldn't be an issue as the amount in the account is less than €5,000 but I'm not sure how CGT works.....Can anyone help???

Yes. Not a concern given the amount of the investment & the fact that the joint holder is your mother.
