CF83 form - correct dates needed?

Hi - I'm filling out the CF83 at the moment, and looking to buy back all the years possible. My records aren't great as regards payslips etc., but have my NI number and can see my pension record etc through the UK Gateway page. One thing is that I'm not sure what my final dates were when leaving the UK - does this have to be accurate, or is a rough approximation sufficient at this stage.
Any help would be greatly received.

A rough approximation is fine. I explained in the box at the end of the form that I am unsure of the actual dates as it is so long ago since I left the UK.
