Sorry if incorrect site. Could any one point me in the right direction.? Can you get the Vaccine as a medical card holder at a reduced rate ?? and does anyone know the cost of the vaccine. Many thanks

HI,

Medical does not cover the vaccine. I hear its about E300. . . could be wrong. . .if so i stand corrected.

There's no state benefit for the cancer vaccine, but I have heard of individual GPs offering the vaccine at reduced rates or at cost (see here for one).

If you're a Hibernian Health or Quinn Healthcare customer you can get the vaccine in certain locations at a reduced cost as well.

Finally, in case you're not aware of it, there is also the National Cervical Cancer Screening programme which is free to women between 25 and 60 - see here.

When the vaccine was first announced a few years back I recall hearing that GPs charged about €600 (2 courses x €300 each), but that price may have gone down since.
