My copper cylinder started leaking at the base and the water started to leak down through my kitchen ceiling. I shut the water supply off outside and drained the cold tank and ran the hot taps to drain cylinder. I have water in the small heating tanks and in the radiators. Can I turn my heating on safely? Someone in a plumbing supply shop said I could but I need a second opinion
This does not drain the cylinder, if it has stopped leaking it is because it is no longer under 'header' pressure.
To avoid any pressure build up from the heating coil leave a hot tap open.
