hi would anybody now, roughly how much an electrician would charge to supply and fit a digital time clock ie to change an old annalogue one with the dials that push in, just a straight swap in west dublin cheers donee

Most gas/oil service technicians would gladly do this job when there to service your appliance for a few extra quid (just let them know beforehand so the have a timeclock with them)

cheers price to fit inc colck was €140

Thats about what I paid. The new digital time clock connected exactly to the connection of the very old analog time clock so it took approx. 10 seconds to install during a routine service and I was charged for the clock only. I was probably lucky that the brand of clock still existed and all connections were backwards compatible, which I think is impressive.

I paid €70 for wiring timer and wiring boiler. It was a new boiler.

And that was peak of the boom.

I think it might depend on whats involved and what wiring is there. I had the old type replaced with a digital one that has the water and heating on different timers. This required some extra wiring back to the hot press, and some making good of holes in walls etc. We also moved it to a much better location.

I agree paddyboy, 140 is a lot.
As i said, I would normally do it while there for a service, timeclocks start at about 35-40 euro upwards depending on type and number of channels, usually about an extra 20 euro to fit while I am there

sorry but the clock was done about two weeks ago and i thought it was a bit dear myself, it was literally changing an old dial type for a new digital one ,straight swap, as a service was'nt being done it she [ my mother in law] just got an electrician and he did it for €140, the clock has no bells or whistles just that it's easierto hit the boost button but cheers for all your advice donee
