We are looking at a rear 2nd floor extension to a cottage that has previous had a ground floor extension and the attic converted with a rear dormer to provide two very small bedrooms. The current ceiling heights downstairs are only about 2.1 / 2.2 and the same in the upstairs area. Has anyone seen exceptions at planning when you can keep these heights and not have to lift the entire cottage and therefore keeping the character of it.
