CB? Would I be entitled?

Quick question, I live abraod in another EU member state born and bred Irish though and I'm having my first child in January....now I've always worked where I'm living now first had a job which paid into the social welfae system in this country but for the last 3 years have worked for an international agency which is tax exempt...but pays some money to my government on my behalf as far as I'm aware!

Now because I'm on a short term contract when I finish at the end of the year I will not be entitled to any payment....i plan on having my baby here but going to Ireland for a couple of months as I will essentially be free for three months.

What I want to know is am I entitled to CB? for the say 3 months I'm there or maybe even longer? Am I entitled to anything?
 
Thanks fro your responce....unfortunately I have contacted the welfare dept. well over a month ago!! Still no reply i understand they are busy under the current circumstances of the economy but they shouldn't have a info email if they don't supply info!

Regarding the residence how long before your considered a resident? I have an active bank account etc in Ireland! It's just in the country I presently live in (a full member of the EU by the way) they have no social welfare benefits eg if you don't work you don't get paid. Just thought since I have paid taxes in Ireland and here maybe I would be entitled to something? 3/4 months is so long to go without being paid anything! Especially with a new baby!
 
Look at this quote -

A person who had previously been habitually resident in the State or within the Common Travel Area and who moved to live and work in another EEA Member State and then resumes his/her permanent residence in the State may be regarded as being habitually resident immediately on his/her return to the State.

As I would not be sure if I was returning to Ireland permanently? We had decided to move back to Ireland but due to the economic situation we are not 100 % sure now.....it all really depends on where we find the best employment?
 
It would come down to how the deciding officer views your case.
They may feel you are only coming back temporarily to avail of the more generous benefit system here, with no plans to remain, or they may accept that you plan to stay if possible workwise. It could go either way, depending on the strength of your case and supporting documentation.

I would put your query to the appropriate section in writing, you have a much better chance of physical mail being dealt with than email.
