Caution lodged with Land Registry

I'm confused, Last year I moved my mortgage from Permanant TSB to IIB and used First American's legal service. I have now recieved a letter from First American stating that as they have not received my title deeds that they are lodging a caution with Land registry and until they recieve them that no further charge can be registered.
I'm very concerned, who should they have got the deeds from, what can I do to rectify this and what impact will it have when I come to sell my house.
Can anyone shed some light on this

Thanks

Contact First American and see exactly what the problem is. What efforts did they make to get the deeds. and why are they only telling you now, if you did the move last year. Where do they believe the deeds to be now?

Registration of mortgage and deeds for the new owner in Land Registry can take time, there are usually delays everywhere. But things can be hurried along when pressure is applied.
