Carers Allowance Interview-what to expect..

Hello all,

I’m a full time carer and as I have been caring for over 2 years have applied for the means tested carers allowance.

I understand that as part of this process have you fill out all your paperwork and attach lots of supporting information, they interview you. I got confirmation of my appointment later this week. I would have applied in mid May.

Has anyone had experience of these interviews?

What should I expect??

I’m not required to bring any additional paperwork.

Any update on this, I have an appeals hearing next week and was wondering what happens at it?
 
Hello,

Mine wasn’t an appeal hearing.

They went through my application again in person and put it on another form. I think they wanted to see if your answer were consistent with what you put on the form..

So my advice would be :

Read over the conditions for what ever you are applying for,

Read over what you have already stated in your application

Don’t talk too much ..
