carers allowance backdated

hi everyone!!

wondering if you can help me with this, ive just recieved carers allowence, my first payment will be in this week, but ive 8weeks to be backdated,

ive been recieving basic supplement welfare of €198 a week while waiting for the carers allowence to come through,

just wondering if ill be back dated for the whole lot of what i should hav been getting 220 a week? making my back dated payments just over 2000??

or do they just back date you on the extra you should hav been geting 220 apposed to 198??

very confused about this.

youll only get the difference ie 220-198=22euro
22x8=176 euro due

Emma dublin,Hope you dont mind me bumping your post.
In regards to your ca how do you know when its been approved.
As in how did you qualify to get the supplement until it came through.
I applied a few weeks ago and just got a letter to say it was being examined.
