I applied for a carers allowance 7 weeks ago , my husband had 2 strokes, and was appproved for disability allowance. I have been in contact with sw in Longford, and their reply is always "It's with the inspector" How long does the process take normally ????
 
It's taking between three and four months, Jeon...

I applied for (Half-Rate) Carers in Sept '07, and got the letter informing me that I'd got it on Christmas Eve....

My wife applied as I am on invalidity pension.. She got a refusal and appealed.. It is now between offices and she is awaiting an oral hering "Which may take some time to arrange" they say due to backlog..
