A friend has asked me to collect her car which won't sell at auction. It went in at too high a price and while initially it seems there were bids - all came up short against an over-the-top reserve - now with a reserve which is substantially less than market-value, nothing is happening.

I cannot collect the car for her to drive it to her elderly parent's home (and effectively stick it up on blocks) but the Auction House wants rid. Partents cannot collect and it seems will have no involvement whatever happens.

Any suggestions?

Dealers are always looking for a bargain, if the reserve is set low it will sell, before adding expense get a view from the auction staff, a car can go stale if sent through a few times as the regulars will think there are hidden issues.

PM me details on the car with the lower reserve and I'll make an enquiry through a trader I know.

take the hit no reserve and whatever it gets it gets.

Car on blocks will lose more and take up space, your mate is kidding themselves.
