Car Registration Information

Hi,
Does anyone know how i would go about getting access to the basic vehicle registration information as highlighted in www.cartell.ie (where you put in your registration number and it returns with the Make / Model of the car? I'm sure its the same information used by vehicle insurance brokers etc

I'm sure that it is available to purchase through a government dept. however the vehicle registration offices i rang are unable to point me in the right direction.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
