Car insurance & Named provisional Licence

Time to renew my car insurance

One full licence and one provisional driver

got quote of €486 with insure.ie for the both of us
then checked with FBD and on my own the quote is €431 but with a named provisional driver it goes up to €840!!

Is this normal ? May go with insure as they are the cheapest lets hope they made no mistake and up it when I go to renew it

FBD quoted my wife €755 about 2 years ago. She asked them if this was for me as a named driver (then a proviosional licence holder). She was told that it was. Went back the next day to change insurance to FBD and was told that ite quote was not with me as named driver and that the insurance was now €1,030.

Amen. You don't give details of cover, NCB, car model, etc., so it's hard to say. But <€10/week for the two of you sounds pretty damn good to me!
