If I sell a house that I inherited do I cantact revenue to pay capital gains or is that part of the process done by the solicitor.
 
No, you will have to file and pay whatever CGT is due

Undoubtedly your solicitor could do that for an extra fee
 
Most solicitors (ie the smarter ones) tend to be reluctant to take on tax return work unless they have specific in-house tax expertise.

You may need to engage an accountant or tax consultant.
