Home Cancellation Fee, is it legal?

Hi,

I'm looking to cancel my Home insurance through a broker to move to a different provider. My existing broker is looking to charge me a 40€ cancellation fee, is this legal?

Ask for a copy of the broker's Terms of Business letter. It should detail the broker's fee policy.

Why not wait till the policy lapses, I moved few years back from broker to online, no fee involved. However my husband's commercial motor insurance is cheaper through a broker.
