Hi,

My contract with Electric Ireland expired in Oct 23 so I Sunday night I signed up to SSE Airtricity (via Bonkers site).

Then the news on Monday was that Electric Ireland are cutting their prices in March - maybe others will follow ?

Not sure if there is a cooling off period and I can cancel my new contract but wondering should I stay with EI for the monent and review in March again to avail of better prices - expecially if there is a bit of a price war ? Any thoughts please ?

Hi Mark,

Welcome to AAM.

There is a 14 day cooling off period.

Maybe input your info on www.energypal.ie to see if the figures work out for you. You can do a Add/Edit Custom Plan and input the new El Irl figures if you know them for March. There is a previous thread on AAM here about the site.

If you leave one of the companies the charge is €50 for leaving early so you may recover that in the savings.

Do you not get the price cuts when on an existing contract? Surely only if you sign up to some form of fixed rate?
