Cancel existing house insurance policy and purchase from same company?

Have an existing house insurance policy with Allianz bought through broker when we purchased our home..

sum assured is for 320K and contents for 15% of this. Cost 552 p.a. but slightly higher as paying monthly

Now have checked allianz website and for exact same policy (starting next month) it's working out as about 388 euro for nearly exact same policy ..

Can I just purchase a new policy and then cancel existing one to expire on a particular date? Can they refuse me cover?

I would imagine so.

Yes - but if they are quoting you online that should be unlikely.
