can you sign on 2 months after you lost your job?

I am after moving up to Dublin and cant seem to find a job here, I have taken out a loan and money is running on fast. I was on the dole once for 3 months last summer. I have been wroking for 5 years with a few months off between each job. I lost my last job at the end of September and havent signed on because of the move and also because I was hoping I would have a job by now. I am starting to get really worried about money. Will I be able to sign on this long after I lost my job?

Yes you can sign on. SW may want to know what you were doing since you lost your job, but I presume you have letters from job applications etc to show them.
